Typically, home audio devices have a singular purpose. Many users end up with a multitude of different audio devices to fulfill each niche. For example, Bluetooth music speakers, computer & TV speakers, performance guitar amps, portable & headphone amps each serve one very specific purpose.
The FrogTech system is designed to provide audio in a wide variety of situations. It uses a modular header and cabinet system to allow for flexible configurations, from a single speaker inside of the header unit suitable for practicing an instrument at home or listening to music on the go, to a full five cabinet system suitable for amplified performances or home theater audio.
Head and Patch Bay System
The head has many input and output options that are optimized for their intended purposes. For example, using the instrument input will use the guitar amp optimized circuit. The head also contains a built-in speaker that can be used alone. The outputs are on the bottom of the header accessed through a patch bay, which allows the user to only have to worry about the outputs they regularly use.
Cabinets
There are four cabinets: a sub, mid, and two highs. They are designed to fit together in a stack. The crossover will adjust based on which cabinets are connected so that the cabinets can be used in multiple configurations. This is done by having different cabinet outputs (in 4Ω, 8Ω, and 16Ω) to manage the different configurations. The outputs are managed through the patchbay.
Colors, Materials & Finishes
The cases are all made from carbon fiber to make them as light and sturdy as possible.
